Taliban Accuses Pakistan of Sabotaging Peace Talks

The Afghan Taliban government announced on Saturday the failure of the latest round of peace talks with Pakistan, held in Turkey and aimed at reaching a permanent ceasefire. In a statement posted on social media, Taliban government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid blamed Islamabad's "irresponsible and uncooperative" approach. During the discussions, the Pakistani side attempted to shift its entire security responsibility onto the Afghan government, while showing no willingness to assume any responsibility for Afghanistan's or its own security, the statement said. It added that the irresponsible and uncooperative stance of the Pakistani delegation led to no results, despite the good intentions of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and its efforts.
