Members of the Security Council expressed the belief that terrorism in all its forms and manifestations poses one of the most serious threats to the world and security in Afghanistan, as well as globally. They called for the need to involve accountability for the perpetrators, organizers, financiers, and enablers of these terrorist acts.
The President of the Security Council this month is the permanent representative of China, Ambassador Fu Kun. In his statement, issued on behalf of the members, he expressed deep condolences and solidarity with the families of the victims, and also wished for a speedy and full recovery of those injured.
Members of the Security Council condemned the terrorist attack that occurred outside one of the banks in the city of Kunduz in northern Afghanistan on February 11 of this year, initiated by the terrorist organization "Islamic State." The attack resulted in the deaths and injuries of dozens of people.
